Charlotte's POV
“Are you okay, babe?” I blink at the sound of Valentino’s voice. I looked down at my untouched food then back at him. He raised his brows and I nodded. My thoughts becoming distant as I rubbed my left eye tiredly, “Sure? You don’t seem like you are!”
“I’m just tired, Valentino,” I whispered and picked up my wine glass. The sweetness balanced with ample tennis pleases my mouth as I took a sip from my red wine.
“Of course. You hardly rest these days!” He twirled the noodles until no strands are hanging from it and lifts it to my mouth, “Take care of your health, baby,” I placed my glass on the table and ate it with a small smile, “Take a break or something!” He said after he retreated his hand. I shook my head, wiping my lips with the back of my finger, “Why not?”
“Because I have no time for rest!” I said quietly and picked up the cutlery, murdering my already dead Lobster tagliatelle with my knife before I took a slice of it in my mouth. When I looked at him, he was staring at me with slightly narrowed eyes. A frown between his brows. His gray eyes burning with some unfathomable emotion. I lifted my shoulders.
He put the cutlery on either sides of his plate and leans back, placing the back of his fingers on his lips as he regards me intently, “What is it, my love?” He asked in his thick and sexy Italian accent, “Tell me, what’s not letting at peace tonight, hm?” I opened my mouth to answer him but an idea popped in my head and I didn’t say a word.
I let out a heavy sigh and dropped my fork in my plate, “I’m sorry, Val, but I have to go,” His eyes flare momentarily in surprise but he didn’t say a word. I stood up, grabbed my shrug and put it on, “I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said but he didn’t respond to me and neither did I wait. I picked my sling bag and was about to leave but didn’t when he said, “You don’t have your car, Ms. William!”
“It’s okay. I’ll get a cab!”
“Sure, you can. But I’ll be grateful if you let me drop you,” He said, getting up from his chair. A small smile on his lips. I sighed and gave him a nod. He slips on his navy pinstriped jacket and put it over his arm, picks up his car keys, and heads for the door, “After you, Miss William,” He murmurs, opening the door for me.
Yeah, Valentino is very elegant, not to mention, only to me.
I smiled and walked out. He puts his hand on my back and we walked in silence down the corridor toward the elevator. As we wait, I glance at him. He was in his usual polite and slightly distant self. His concertation was in his phone. Suddenly, he looks at me and smiles. I smiled back and looked back at the elevator door.
It was our date night. Val and I have the ritual of having a dinner night on every weekend but because of our busy schedules we’re putting it on hold for two months. Tonight, we finally got time to for each-other but Lorentz’s answer to my proposal ruined my mood. Lorentz Martinez is a resorts businessman. I wanted his Alghero property because it’s located in a very beautiful area. The resorts are situated next to the beaches and view from the hotels are breathtaking. The property was worth to buy but Lorentz refuse to sold it to me because he didn’t want me to renovate it. A resort business has excellent prospects since many people love traveling and luxury resorts are always a popular destination. I wanted to turn them modern and luxurious to earn better. My proposal was beneficial for both of us since his resorts business is are literally drowning but he rejected it at my face and said that he will rather die than let me change a single piece of his property.
If I want, I could snatch his entire property and ruin him but because I have promised Ethan to never use my mafia power in my such business stuff, I’m helpless.
“Do you wanna do it some other day?” Valentino asked after we walked out of the elevator. I raised brows at him, “The date?” He takes the purse out of my hands and hands it over to one of his men as we walked towards his parked black Mercedes gle class.
“Uh, sure,” I smiled, “We-We could do it next weekend!” He nodded and opens the passenger door to his car, and I clamber in. He closes the door gently and took his seat next to me. After wearing our seatbelts, he starts the engine and reverses out of his space in the parking lot. I took off my heels and threw them in the back seat. My feet hurting less as I massaged the them gently.
“If it hurts then why do you even wear those?” He asked, keeping his focus on the road. I replied, “Because I like to,” he shook his head with a sigh of disbelief. I giggled and looked out of the window.
The wet, desolate streets of the city rested in silence as the starry black sky wept over it. The small, green trees on the roadside swayed as the breeze hit them. Its dark, and the street lights can’t properly light every part of it. The sounds I can hear are the leaves rustling in the breeze. None of us saying a word during the ride and enjoying the peace. I sighed and played the MP3. The song “Dandelions” by an unknown male artis started playing on the speakers. I opened the car’s window and let the cold breeze whip my hair. I put my arm on my window and rested my chin on it as looked at the view in wonder. The silent dark road was gleaming by the bright rays of the full moon. It looked magnificent. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the ride in silence.
After a few minutes later, when I opened my eyes, I realized that he wasn’t taking me to my house. I frowned, “Are you taking me your home, Valentino?” He nodded, his focus was on the road ahead. I clenched my jaw, “Why?”
“I have a surprise for you,” He looks at me and winks. I didn’t say anything after and let him take me his home because I like surprises.
Soon, Valentino pulls up outside his castle and gets out of the car. He comes to my side and opens the door for me, holding his hand out to me. I looked at his hand then back at his face, “I’m not in a mood of any sex tonight!” I said, giving my hand to him. He laughed and pulls me out gently, “Trust me,” His gray eyes were shining with mischief. I let out an irritated sigh and took a step past him but he yanks me back and picks me in his arm in a bridal style. I gasped with his unexpected move, “What’re you doing, Val? Put me down!” My mood was already bad and his unnecessary romance was turning it worse. He didn’t respond and started walking towards his castle, “Val, please put me down,” I requested gently but he remained unresponsive and kept walking. I clenched my jaw, “Valentino!!”
“Sshh,”
I opened my mouth to yell but went against my wish and let him take me wherever he wants without any further protest because he loves it when I resist him.
Outside the castle was his men with rifles in their hands. They had the same poker look on their faces. My men are also like them. They move their muscles only when they are told. The doorkeepers bowed at us and unlocked the gates. The first thing that comes in the view is the huge staircase which was covered with a red carpet. He walks in and I roamed my eyes around. This castle is built of stone and its walls were covered with art, old paintings and show-pieces. The furniture was simple but royal. I looked up at the ceiling and my eyes lit by the hit of huge chandelier’s light above me. It was the most beautiful and huge chandelier I’ve ever seen. I’ve come here a plenty of times but I always find myself awestruck with its breathtaking royal beauty.
With me in his arms, he passed through brown gray sandstone lobby and halts outside a door and carefully puts me down. I suddenly become excited because I’ve been never come me to this side of his castle before. He slips the key inside the lock and unlocks the door. It was all dark and silent until he turns on the lights and revealed a guy who was tied to a metal chair with a black clothe on his face. I walked in and regards me him carefully. My hands crossed beneath my breasts.
“Who is he?” I asked, keeping my focus on the guy in front of me. Val takes his place behind the guy and revealed his face to me. My eyes widened in surprise. It was Lorentz Martinez. He put his hands on his shoulders and smiles at me, “You are upset because he didn’t give you what you wanted, right?” He moved his hands closer to his neck and says, “Here he is. Come and get his signature wherever you want!”
“Trust me, Val, I’m... I’m very impressed by your surprise but you have to leave him,” He frowns at me, “Yes. I-I can’t have it this way because I have promised my bother to not use my bad ways in business stuff,” He tugs his hands in his jeans pocket and comes to me, “Ethan will not talk to me if he comes to know that I used my mafia support to get his signature!” I said when he halted in front of me. He lifts his hand and trailed his fingers from my arm to my jaw. Lifting my head a little, he looks deep into my eyes and asks, “Do you want that property?”
“Ethan-
“Do you want that or not?” He interrupted me. I let out a sigh and gave him a nod, “Then it is yours!”
“Oh, I told you, Val, I-
“I will give it you,” After my family he’s the first one who I allow to interrupt me otherwise I hate getting interrupted, “I will sign the property to me and hand over it to you later!”
“Really?” I was overjoyed. He chuckles and gave me a nod. I grinned and smashed my lips against his in a passionate kiss. He smiles above my lips and kissed me back with more energy by pressing my body against his. I smirked.
Well, well, the plan went just as I wanted. All that upset behavior was for Valentino to help me get the property without me asking. He kidnapped Lorentz and is going to give me the property after signing it to himself. So, since, the one to snatch it is Valentino, my promise to Ethan will not break. Also, I could have asked him for help but self-respect is more important to me.
His hands moved lower and he gives my ass I rough squeeze. I moaned into his mouth and pulled away, “Wake him up,” I said, my breath a little heavy. He tilted his head to the other side and calls his men in. Guys in gray suit walked in and stood around us, “Wake the bastard up!” A guy nodded and threw a bucket of cold water on Lorentz’s face and jolted him awake.
He gasps and looks around panic until his eyes laid on me, “You?” His jaw clenching and palms rolling into strong fists. His eyes had so much hatred for me. I crossed my hands across my breasts and smirked wickedly at him, “Yes, me... Mr. Martinez!”
