The next day at the hospital.
Elijah's Pov
"Sir, excuse me, sir"
I was woken by a quiet low manly voice. I lifted my head from the bed, Straight away my attention turned to Mia, to make sure she was okay.
I took a breath of relief still holding her hand and then looked up to see the doctor standing beside me.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"Yes, but we are going to do a few more tests to make sure mia is good to head home"
"Okay, how long will that take?" I asked.
"It will be a few hours before we know if she is out of the park," the doctor explained.
"Oh"
"I'm going to be straight with you, I am worried about mia," said the doctor
"Why is that?" I asked
"Well, she hasn't woken up yet. If she doesn't wake up in the next hour or two then its more serious than we thought"
"Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked.
"No, you should head home and we will call when the time is right"
I knew there was nothing I could do so I listened, doctor. I stood up, turning to Mia. I bent down kissing her on her cheek then made my way out of her room.
I closed the door behind me, peaking through the window, my heart stopped just seeing her like this. For a second I had a thought. I could give her my blood. Right? It would heal her faster.
But I could hear my sister's voice in my head saying, 'you have to be careful, no one knows you're a vampire. You can't risk it'
I hesitated, veering my gaze away from Mia. I deeply wanted to rush back into her room and give her my blood.
But I have to trust that the doctors know what they are doing. Even though it kills me inside to see her laying there hopelessly. Not able to do a thing.
I know one thing that I can do. It is to FIND THE PERSON THAT DID THIS TO HER. I'm not going to rest until I find her attacker.
As I walked down the hallway to the elevator I heard the doctor calling out to me.
"Sir! Sir"
I turned around, "yes, is everything okay?"
"Oh yes, I wanted to know if you wanted us to call you when we find anything out"
"Yes! I would like that. Oh, and what do I call you doctor?"
"I'm doctor Parker"
Doctor Parker handed me a pen and paper then I wrote down my number and name. I handed the information over to doctor Parker then turned around and made my way out of the hospital, walking over to my car getting in.
I quietly sat in my car, trying to make a plan to find Mia's attacker. I called up a few of my mates to meet me at my house to discuss everything.
I hung up then I turned my car on and drove home. It was a 20 minute drive to my house. I arrived at my house parking my car in the driveway and started walking up to the door. As I unlocked my front door, I heard my name being called out. It was my mates.
"Hey man," said matt
"Dude," said Ethan
"Sup," said chris
"What is the urgent meeting for?" Tyler
"Come inside have a drink and then we'll talk"
We all strolled inside, I walked straight into the kitchen and poured a full glass of bourbon. I chugged it down and poured another glass.
"Woah man, maybe you should take it easy," said matt
"NO!" I slammed the glass down on the counter, "I can't"
"Dude chill," said Ethan
I chugged the second cup of bourbon down walking into the dining room. I paced back and forth.
"Elijah what's wrong? Why are we here?"asked chris
"I want you all to track down someone"
"Sure, who are we after?" Asked Tyler.
"That's the thing I have no clue"
"Why are you after someone?" Asked Chris
I clenched my hands into fists, so hard that my hands started to bleed. I turned around taking a breath, I grabbed my napkin from the left pocket of my suit and wiped the blood from my hands.
Once the blood was gone I pulled out my phone, scrolling through my gallery. I stopped on Mia's photo I had secretly taken of mia. I lifted the phone up showing them her photo.
"This is Mia, who I'm sure you all know is Fraya's friend. She was attacked last night after work. We are going to find her attacker, no matter how long it takes"
Everyone had a few drinks and I told them where the attack took place then left. There has to be something I can do.
Because I can't let the attacker get away with this. What if it was worse? What if Mia was killed? That I couldn't take.
I had called Fraya and Claire letting them know what I was doing and I told them that the doctor had to do a few more tests. Just to make sure Mia was good to head home.

A few hours later
Mia's Pov
I start to slowly open my eyes with the sun glaring in, not releasing where I am. When I fully opened my eyes, my entire body ached. I tried to move but then I noticed I had a bunch of things stuck in me.
I didn't understand where I was or why I'm here. Did the attacker kidnap me? Is that why I'm here? I started pulling all the cords out of my arm and tried to get out of this bed.
Once I pulled out all the cords the monitors started making loud alarms. I stood up, "ahh!" Everything hurt so much. I gripped the bed trying to steady myself. Hearing loud footsteps rushing over to me, I froze, not knowing who the person was.
"Miss Jenkins, you're awake! That great news but you should be resting"
I tried to turn around but I stumbled and started to fall. The man rushes over holding me up and helps me back into the bed. I have no clue where I am or who this stranger is but I do know he is gorgeous.
"Now Miss Jenkins, I am your doctor. You can call me Dr Parker. Do you understand?"
I frowned as I looked around the room.
"Miss Jenkins?"
I heard my name and turned my head to the doctor.
"W..why am I here? I was at work. I have to get back to work. I can't be late.."
"You were attacked last night. Your friend called an ambulance when they found you. You have a concussion,"
"I...i..have to get back to work"
"It's okay miss jenkins, just rest for now and I'll send a nurse in to check your vitals"

Elijah's Pov
I just got off the phone with Dr Parker. I am beyond thrilled that Mia has woken up. I quickly grabbed my keys, walked out, locking the door behind me and got into my car. I turned my bluetooth on and called Claire and Fraya to let them know and to meet at the hospital. Just knowing Mia is awake is a huge relief.
Within no time, I heaved into the hospital parking lot and parked my car. As I started walking I heard my sister fraya and Claire calling out to me.
"Is she okay?" Asked Fraya.
"What do you know?" Asked Claire
"All I know is that she finally woke up"
We strolled into the hospital and walked up to the counter to talk to the nurse sitting at the computer typing away.
"Good afternoon miss"
The nurse looked up smiling at me, "what can I do for you handsome?"
"Dr Parker called me about miss Jenkins and he told me to come in"
"Okay, take a seat and I will page him"
A few minutes later dr Parker came walking over and took us up to see Mia. We arrived on the third floor and walked down the hallway to room 2B.
Dr Parker held the door for all of us then walked in and closed the door.
I walked over to Mia and sat down scooping her hand up in mine.
"Is she okay?" Fraya asked.
"Miss Jenkins is perfectly healthy and she is ready to head home as soon as she wakes up from her nap."
"Are there any symptoms from the concussion we should look out for?" I asked.
"Yes, usually there are headaches, dizziness, nausea or vomiting and or even amnesia surrounding the event," Dr Parker explained.
"But will she be okay?" Asked Claire.
"Yes, she will be fine. If you are worried about anything just come in and we will check on miss Jenkins"
We were all speaking to doctor Parker when suddenly we all turned around to Mia screaming.
"Ahhhhh!"
Dr Parker ran over holding Mia down so she wouldn't hurt herself. I can't bear to see Mia like this. It tears me up inside. I see the look in Claire and Fraya's eyes, its fear. They don't like this and are scared for mia.
"Mia we are here," said fraya
"It’s okay Mia," said Claire.
"I think you all should go down to the cafeteria, have something to eat and drink so Mia can calm down," said doctor Parker
"I want to stay," Claire said.
Everyone turned their attention to Dr Parker and I stood up walking around the bed to stand beside Claire. I see the fear in Claire’s eyes, I know she has grown up with Mia and doesn’t want anything to happen to Mia. I am the same. I don't want anything else to happen to her. I care too much about her.
"Okay Dr Parker, we…"
I was cut off by the sound of Mia speaking.
"I..I can’t stay. I have to get to work"
Mia got up out of bed and stumbled. I rushed over helping her up and sat her back down on the bed. I noticed the colour drained from her face, I looked into her eyes all I could see was pain. I deeply wanted to scoop her up and kiss her to comfort her to let her know everything will be okay but I couldn’t.
"Mia, I've told our boss what’s happened. He knows you won’t be in today," Claire explained.
"My mouth is dry.."
"I will go get a glass of water for you," I said.
I started walking towards the door when I felt a hand grab my arm. I turned around to see fraya, tears filled her eyes. I pulled her into a deep hug. I hugged her so tight, I can’t imagine going through this if it had happened to my sister. I would be even more of a wreck then I am right now. I am trying to hold myself together and put on a brave face for them.
I whispered into her ear, “it’s going to be okay. We will get through this together”
Fraya took a step back and gave me a faint smile.

Mia’s Pov
"Dr Parker… I need to speak to you"
"Sure"
"I need to talk to you alone"
"Okay"
Elijah walked over to me, leaned in and hugged me. I love the feeling of being in his arms. I wanted to ask him to stay and lay down with me on this bed but with fraya here we can’t. We can’t show any type of affection. I wrapped my arms around him pulling him closer.
I whispered into his ear, “promise me you won’t listen in on what I’m talking about”
“I promise”
I watched all of them leave my room, closing the door behind them. Right now isn't the time to tell them about my secret. Even though I want to tell them badly, I worry that they will judge me. I have even told them why my ex and I aren't together anymore. Well Claire knows he has changed but not the full reason.
Once I know they are out of range I turn my attention to Dr Parker. I gently grab his hand.
"Is everything okay with me?"
Yes you are in top shape. You will be a bit sore for a few days but you will be fine"
"I understand that but is everything good? Nothing wrong?"
"Yes, nothing is wrong. You are perfectly healthy"
"So can I go home?" I asked.
"Yes"
I smiled at the doctor when I heard the door open and footsteps. I turned my head to see Elijah walking over to me, holding a glass of water in his hand.
One hour later
Claire had gone to my place to pick up some clean clothes for me to change into. Fraya couldn't stay because she had work, she hugged me then left. Elijah stayed with me while I waited for Dr Parker to give me the all clear.
A few minutes later Dr Parker walked in with my charts in his hands. He looked at me and gave me the all clear to go home and rest but I wasn't allowed to work for at least 2 days. What am I going to do for the two whole days? Cooped up in my house with nothing to do, that I know won't happen. No one is going to make me stay in bed all day.
I thanked Dr Parker then turned to Elijah, I cupped his left cheek smiling at him.
"I get to go home,"
"Yes," he smirked, "you have to do what Dr Parker said. You are to rest and not work for 2 days"
I leaned in planting my lips on his, it didn't take long for him to kiss me back.
I deeply wanted to go further with Elijah right now but we are in a hospital and anyone could walk in at any minute. But I know that it can't happen again, even if it breaks my heart. Pulling him in deeper I savoured the kiss then I pulled back looking into his eyes.
"Wow, what was that for?" Elijah asked.
"No reason, I just wanted to kiss you"
"Okay, I'm not going to argue with that"
Within the next minute we heard a knock at the door. I turned my attention to the door, it was Claire. She was holding a bag with a bag in her hands. As our eyes met tears filled our eyes.
I got out of bed and walked over to Claire who was starting to cry. She dropped the bag on the floor, I wrapped my arms around her pulling her into an intense hug.
"You don't have to cry"
"I..i thought I lost you"
"You know you can't get rid of me that easy"
Claire let out a small chuckle while stepping back.
"Here you go, I went to get you a change of clothes"
I grabbed the bag from her hands.
"Thanks"

Claire's Pov
I watched Mia walk into the bathroom, I fell into the bed feeling relieved, that Mia is healthy and that nothing is wrong with her. She is like a sister to me. I don't know what I would do without her.
A few minutes later, Mia walked out of the bathroom. I knew I had chosen the right outfit, when I turned to notice Elijah's mouth drop wide open.
She strolled out in a blue and white long sleeve off shoulder shirt and a dark ruby red skirt with black ballet shoes. I must say I do have great taste. Even though it's a simple look she looks hot!
As Mia walked over to us I noticed she didn't have her locket on. Which is weird, she always has it on, she never takes it off.
I didn't want to worry Mia so I didn't say anything. Soon we signed some papers then we left the hospital
